Court Fee Calculator
The Court Fee Calculator lets you estimate the court fee payable for a plaint, petition or application under the Delhi court fee schedule. It’s available two ways:
- A public tool at
/tools/court-fee-calculator- no login needed, nothing saved, built for a quick one-off estimate. - An in-app version at
/court-feesinside the dashboard, gated behind the Court Fees tab permission - the same calculation, but you can save the result straight onto a case.
Selecting the court level
Choose one of three court levels:
| Level | Examples |
|---|---|
| District / Sessions Court | Tis Hazari, Karkardooma, Saket, Rohini, etc. |
| High Court | Delhi High Court |
| Supreme Court of India | SCI |
Fee types
Ad valorem (value-based) fees
For suits where the fee depends on the claim value, e.g. Recovery of Money, Specific Performance, or Injunction:
- Select the court level
- Choose the cause of action / suit type from the dropdown
- Enter the claim value in rupees
- The calculator applies the correct band from the Court Fees Act 1870 (as extended to Delhi) and the Delhi Courts Handbook, and shows the exact fee
These fees use cumulative slabs - different rates apply to different portions of the claim value, not one flat rate on the whole amount. The breakdown shows what portion of the claim falls into each slab and what that slab contributes to the total.
Fixed fees
For matters with a flat fee regardless of claim value - Vakalatnama, Talbana (process fee), inspection fees, certified copies, matrimonial and criminal applications, SLPs, writ petitions and civil appeals at the Supreme Court, and more:
- Select the court level
- Choose the fee type from the fixed-fee list
- The fee is shown immediately - no claim value needed
Reading the result
The result panel shows:
- Total court fee - the amount to be paid
- Calculation method - ad valorem (slab-based) or fixed
- Slab breakdown - for ad valorem fees, each slab, its rate, and its sub-total
- Any applicable process fee or misc. charges, and a legal reference citation for the rule applied
Copying and downloading the result
- Copy the fee summary to your clipboard with the Copy button.
- On the public tool, you can also download a PDF of the breakdown - it includes the NyayX header, the line-item table, the total, the date generated, and a disclaimer footer. The in-app version doesn’t have a separate PDF export, since the fee can be attached directly to a case instead (see below).
Using it inside a case
The in-app version at /court-fees can save the calculated fee straight
onto a case as an expense (tagged as a court fee, with a billable toggle),
and offers an Add to Invoice shortcut so the fee flows into your
billing without re-entering it. The public tool doesn’t save anything -
it’s a standalone estimator.
Resetting
- Public tool: click Recalculate to start over.
- In-app version: click Reset (circular arrow icon) to clear all inputs.
