Workspace & members

Workspace settings

1 Open Settings → Workspace

Click Settings in the sidebar. The Workspace tab is open by default.

2 Update workspace name

Enter your firm name in Workspace Name. This name appears on invoice PDFs, in invitation messages, and in case-share notifications sent to people outside your firm. Click Save.

Inviting team members

NyayX invites members by WhatsApp / mobile number — there is no email invite flow. Invitations are sent to a 10-digit Indian mobile number. The invitee must have a NyayX account on that number; if they don’t, an invite link is generated that you can share directly on WhatsApp.

The sidebar Team entry now opens Settings → Members — this is the same page described below.

The four invitable roles

RoleTypical use
Senior Advocate / PartnerFull case work + read-only finances/invoices; no billing or settings.
Associate AdvocateFull case work; no finance or billing tabs.
Desk ClerkDaily case work (view/upload documents, notes, hearings); no money tabs.
Billing & AccountsFinance-focused; limited case-work visibility.

Role presets load a sensible default set of per-feature permissions which the owner can tweak before or after sending the invite. See Tab permissions for the full feature grid.

Owner is your account. It has every permission, cannot be restricted, and is the only account that can transfer ownership or delete the workspace.

Sending an invite

1 Open Settings → Members

Click Settings in the sidebar, then select Members.

2 Click Invite Member

The invite form expands inline at the top of the Members panel.

3 Enter the mobile number and choose a role

Type the 10-digit mobile number (with a +91 prefix shown). Select the role from the dropdown — the default feature permissions for that role are shown below the form so you can review them before sending.

Optionally pick a saved Invite Template to apply a pre-configured permission bundle.

4 Send the invite

Click Send Invite.

  • If the number has a NyayX account — an invite notification is sent; the person appears in the Members table with a pending status dot.
  • If no account is found — a one-time invite link is generated. You can copy it or tap Send on WhatsApp to open a pre-filled WhatsApp message directly. The link auto-joins them to the workspace when they sign up. Pending links also appear under Pending Invites in the Members panel where you can copy or revoke them at any time.

Managing existing members

The Members table lists every member with a status indicator:

  • Accepted (green) — joined and active
  • Pending (amber) — invited but hasn’t accepted yet
  • Rejected (red) — turned the invitation down
  • Expired (grey) — invitation timed out

For each non-owner member you can:

  • Permissions — opens an inline panel for action-level RBAC (e.g. allow/deny case:delete).
  • Tab access — opens a drawer to change the tab-level permissions for this single member, overriding the role template. Apply a preset or set each tab individually. See Tab permissions.
  • Change role — drops the existing tab permissions and re-applies the role’s template. Member’s overrides are reset.
  • Remove (the trash/cross icon) — for accepted members this revokes their access immediately. For pending members the same button acts as Revoke invitation — the pending invite is cancelled and the seat is released right away. They can be re-invited later.

Invite links for users who haven’t signed up yet appear in the Pending Invites section at the bottom of the Members panel. Each row shows the mobile hint, role, and expiry date. Two actions are available:

  • Copy link — copies the invite URL to your clipboard.
  • Revoke — cancels the link immediately. Anyone who clicks it after revocation will see an “invite no longer valid” error.

The workspace owner cannot be removed or restricted. To change owner, use Transfer ownership.

Working in another firm’s workspace

If you are a member of someone else’s paid workspace and your own personal plan expires:

  • Your work in their workspace continues uninterrupted — your seat is covered by the workspace owner’s subscription, not your own.
  • A banner appears on your own (expired) workspace explaining the situation and offering a quick switch.
  • On your next login, NyayX automatically lands you in the healthiest workspace (the one with an active subscription).

Seat limits

Your plan determines how many members the workspace can hold. The Members header shows seats used — for example 1/2 seats — and the number of add-on seat packs purchased. When you hit the limit, the invite button shows a Seat Limit Reached prompt pointing you to Billing. See Subscription & billing for how the per-seat pricing works.
