Pending Dates
Pending Dates (/pending) is a work queue that surfaces every active case in your workspace with an uncertain or missing next hearing date. It lets you set the date inline without leaving the page.
Why cases end up here
A case appears in Pending Dates when its next scheduled hearing falls into one of four categories:
| Status | When it appears |
|---|---|
| Discrepancy | The date you entered manually doesn’t match what the court’s cause list shows for this case |
| Tentative | A hearing date was recorded but marked tentative (e.g., picked up from the SCI live result as provisional, before the official record confirms it) |
| Stale | The nightly auto-sync check flagged the case: its last hearing was two or more weeks ago and no NDOH has appeared on the cause list since. It’s usually not stuck, just still watching for a listing, but worth entering manually if the court told you the date over the phone or by notice |
| No date | No future hearing is recorded. The case is effectively adjourned sine die, or you haven’t entered the next date yet |
They’re listed in that order of urgency: a discrepancy means your records and the court’s disagree right now, so it’s the most pressing.
Filtering
The filter chips at the top, All, Discrepancy, Tentative, No date set, narrow the list. Use Discrepancy first. Stale cases currently show up inside the No date view alongside a small note on how long it’s been since the last hearing; there isn’t a dedicated “Stale” filter chip yet, so if a case looks stuck, check its detail for that note before assuming nothing is happening.
Setting a date inline
Scroll to the case row or use your browser’s search (⌘F / Ctrl+F). Each row shows the case number, title, client name, court, and how long ago the last hearing was.
Click Set Date on the right of the row. The date entry form expands inline beneath the case.
Pick the date and tap Save. NyayX creates a new hearing entry for that date and removes the case from the Pending Dates queue.
Discrepancy rows
For Discrepancy rows, the expanded row shows both dates side by side:
- Our record: what NyayX has on file
- Court record: what was found in the scraped cause list
Keep your date, use the court’s date, or enter a custom date and save. The discrepancy flag clears either way. See NDOH tracking for exactly when a discrepancy is raised (it’s not simply because the case appears on an intermediate listing date).
Tentative rows
For Tentative rows, the date was provisionally captured, often via the SCI live result, which can show before the official diary entry is published. Confirm it once you’re sure it’s correct, or enter the real date if the bench gave a different one; either action converts it from tentative to confirmed.
