First login & workspace setup

NyayX has no passwords. You sign in with your WhatsApp number and a one-time code, and the same flow creates your account automatically the first time you use it. This guide walks through logging in and the profile setup wizard every new user completes before reaching the dashboard.

Logging in with WhatsApp OTP

1 Enter your WhatsApp number

On the login screen, enter the 10-digit WhatsApp number you practice with (India is the default; the US, UK, UAE, Singapore, Australia, and Saudi Arabia are also supported) and select Send OTP on WhatsApp.

2 Enter the 6-digit code

NyayX sends a 6-digit code to that number on WhatsApp. Enter it on the verification screen and select Verify and Continue.

A few things about the code:

  • One code per day. The same code stays valid all day and resets at midnight IST. If you already received one earlier today, you don’t get a new one, just reuse it.
  • Resend re-sends the same code. If you didn’t receive it, wait for the resend cooldown to clear and tap Resend same code. This doesn’t generate a new code, it re-sends the one already active for today.
  • Lost your phone or changed numbers? Use Change Number to start over with a different WhatsApp number.
3 Accept the privacy consent (first-time signups only)

If this is your first time logging in, you’ll see a consent section before the Verify button unlocks. Agreeing to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service is required to create an account. Marketing emails, analytics, and WhatsApp notifications are optional and can be changed later in Settings → Privacy.

Returning users skip this. You’ll only see it once, on signup.

Profile setup (new accounts only)

If you’re a new user, verifying your OTP takes you straight into a short setup wizard instead of the dashboard. It only appears once; returning users with a completed profile go directly to Home. Your progress is saved as you go, so refreshing the page or closing the tab won’t lose your answers.

1 Identity

Enter your full name (first and last name) and email address. This is what appears on case documents and client communications.

2 Credentials

Enter your Bar Council ID in the STATE/NUMBER/YEAR format (for example MH/1234/2020), your years of experience, and select one or more practice areas (Criminal Law, Civil Litigation, Family & Matrimonial, Corporate & Commercial, and others). These are required for Bar Council verification and case-filing access.

3 Practice: chamber address

Enter your office pincode, and NyayX auto-fills city and state from it (you can still correct them). Add your street address. This is used for correspondence and to surface nearby court listings.

4 Workspace

Choose your practice type:

  • Solo Practice: you’re the only included seat. Inviting anyone later, even to one case, adds them as a billed seat.
  • Law Firm / Chambers: team-based, with per-seat billing for every member beyond your plan’s included seats.

Then name your practice or firm. If you chose Law Firm / Chambers, also pick a firm structure (Sole Proprietorship, Partnership, LLP, Pvt. Ltd., or In-House / Legal Dept.).

5 Invite Team (Law Firm / Chambers only)

If you set up a firm workspace, you can invite up to 5 colleagues by email right here. They’re added as Team Leaders and you can change their role later. This step is optional and is skipped entirely for Solo workspaces, since there’s no one to invite yet.

6 Tax & Bank

Add your GSTIN if your practice is GST-registered, and your bank details (IFSC, bank name, account number) so they appear on invoices. Everything here is optional and can be filled in later from Settings → Firm Profile. Your 7-day free trial starts once you finish this wizard, no card required, with every feature unlocked.

7 Review & submit

Check everything on one screen, use Edit next to any section to go back and fix it, then submit. You land on Home immediately after.

After setup: the activation checklist

The first time you reach Home, you’ll see an activation checklist with a few more steps to get real value out of NyayX: creating your first case, setting up billing details, inviting a team member, and scheduling your first hearing. It stays on your dashboard until you finish the required steps or dismiss it, and reappears if a required step becomes incomplete.

Inviting team members later

You don’t have to invite your team during setup. At any time, go to Settings → Members (or Team in the sidebar) and select Invite Member. You invite by WhatsApp number, not email, and pick a role:

  • Admin: full access except changing member roles and workspace-level settings.
  • Senior Lawyer: case work focus, no admin access.
  • Team Leader: case work plus the ability to add or remove members.
  • Junior: limited to viewing and editing assigned work only.

If the number isn’t registered on NyayX yet, you get a shareable invite link instead (with a one-tap “send on WhatsApp” option) that auto-joins them to your workspace once they sign up. Team invites require a paid plan with an available seat. A Solo workspace on the free plan only has yourself.
