Documents (Legal Proceedings)

Every case has its own Documents tab for orders, pleadings, evidence, affidavits, vakalatnamas, and anything else filed or received in the matter. Documents are organized into folders by type, so you’re not scrolling through one long list to find a specific order or affidavit.

1 Open the Documents tab

Open a case and click the Documents tab in the case detail tab bar.

2 Upload a document

Click Upload Files (or drag a file straight onto a folder). Set:

  • Document Type: Order, Pleading, Evidence, Draft / Drafting, Correspondence, Notice, Affidavit, Vakalatnama, Contract, Certified Copy, or Other. This decides which folder the document lands in.
  • Description: an optional note on what the file is
  • Document Date: the date on the document
  • Link to Hearing Date: for Order type documents only, pick one of the case’s past hearing dates instead of a manual document date, so the order is tied to the hearing it came out of

Accepted formats: PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, ODT/ODS/ODP, images, and video, up to 100 MB per file.

3 Browse by folder

The Documents tab groups files into folders: Orders, Pleadings, Evidence, Drafts, Correspondence, Notices, Affidavits, Vakalatnama, Contracts, Certified Copies, and Other. Click a folder to see just those files, in grid or list view.

For Supreme Court, High Court, District Court, and DRT cases that sync with the court’s cause list, the sidebar also shows an Auto-Synced section (grouped by court) with PDFs pulled in automatically, separate from your own My Uploads.

4 Create a custom folder (optional)

Click New Folder to make your own folder for a case, for example to group everything related to one round of arguments. Files you drag into a custom folder show up there in addition to their document-type folder.
