Deadlines & reminders

NyayX watches your dates so nothing slips. Task due dates and case deadlines both appear on the Calendar and both send reminders as the date gets close. Every reminder names the case, so you know which matter it is about before you open anything.

Two kinds of dated work

  • Task due dates. Any task with a due date shows on the Calendar on that day as an orange task event. See Creating tasks.
  • Deadlines. A case can also carry formal deadlines (filing dates, appeal windows, response dates, limitation dates) on its Deadlines tab. These show on the Calendar in red, separate from tasks.

Both sit alongside your hearings, so a single calendar view shows court dates, internal to-dos, and statutory deadlines together and helps you spot clashes early.

How reminders reach you

As a due date or deadline approaches, NyayX sends reminders on a fixed schedule: 7 days before, 3 days before, and 1 day before, each at 9:00 am IST.

Reminders can go out over four channels:

  • In-app notification
  • Push to your phone
  • Email
  • WhatsApp

In-app and push are on by default. Email and WhatsApp follow your notification preferences, with one exception: case deadline reminders always send a detailed email to the assignee. Every reminder, on every channel, includes the case number (and, in the deadline email, the case title, deadline type, due date, and days remaining).

1 Set a due date on a task

Create or edit a task and pick a Due date. Reminders arm automatically for 7, 3, and 1 days before.

2 Or add a deadline to a case

Open a case, go to the Deadlines tab, and add a deadline with its type and date. It gets the same 7/3/1-day reminder schedule, plus the detailed deadline email.

3 Adjust which channels you get

Choose which reminders arrive by email and WhatsApp from your notification preferences. In-app and push stay on so a reminder never goes unseen.

When reminders stop

Completing a task, or removing its due date, cancels its remaining reminders. Change a date and the schedule re-arms around the new date, so you only ever get reminders for dates that still matter.
